Rotorua & Coromandel

COROMANDEL - Driving Creek Railway

During our time in New Zealand’s North Island, we spent a few days in the geo-thermal area of Rotorua, and enjoyed the hot springs, and a beautiful scenic zipline through the tree canopy.

Dive Poor Knights

Poor Knights - Riko Riko cave

Chris and I are keen scuba-divers, and while we’re in New Zealand we decided to dive the Poor Knights, in the north of the North Island, as it’s generally rated to be a superb dive location. Well, the ratings are right, how incredible!

Stewart & Ulva Islands

Drive south, past Christchurch, south past Dunedin, south through the beautiful Catlins, around the south-east corner of the South Island of New Zealand, leave your car in Bluff and board a ferry, head south…. to the Roaring Forties, to Stewart Island, New Zealand’s third island!

Dunedin – the Edinburgh of the South!

DUNEDIN RAILWAY STATION

Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand calls itself the Edinburgh of the South, but I’m not sure I see it.
